If you want to know how to clean sleep earbuds, three of our own product pages already answer it in their FAQs — and although each was written for a different model, they describe the same morning routine: a soft, dry cloth, a short airing before the earbuds go back in the case, and no rinsing. This article walks through what each page says, in its own words, and stops where the pages stop.
Three pages, one routine, written three times
We read the full product descriptions for the Q26 Bluetooth 5.3 Sleeping Earbuds, the 2.4g Mini Sleeping Earbuds and the Low-Profile Sleeping Earbuds. Each has a care question in its FAQ, phrased slightly differently — "after nightly use", "earbuds I wear every night", "after wearing overnight" — and each answers with the same three moves. That agreement is the reason this article exists: it is not one page's advice, it is a routine the same store has written three separate times.

This one only covers what the three sleep pages themselves say — which turns out to be shorter, and to leave some things out on purpose.
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth, then let them air out before the case
The Q26 page puts it this way: "Wipe the silicone surfaces with a soft, dry cloth each morning and let the earbuds air out briefly before closing them in the case." The Low-Profile page: "Give the earbuds a gentle wipe with a soft, dry cloth in the morning and let them air out before sealing them in the case." The 2.4g Mini page: "Each morning, wipe the body and the ear wing with a soft, dry cloth… Let them dry in open air before casing them."
Read the three together and the order is the instruction. The wipe comes first and the case comes last, with an airing in between. None of the three pages says how long "briefly" is, and we are not going to invent a number for them. What they do agree on is that the case is the end of the routine, not the middle of it — you do not wipe, case, and air out later.
The crease where the wing meets the earbud
Only one of the three pages names a specific spot. The 2.4g Mini page says to wipe "the body and the ear wing… paying attention to the crease where the wing meets the earbud." That page describes the pair as having "a curved stabilizing ear wing" — a small silicone fin that tucks into the ear — so the crease is a real feature of that design, not a generic reminder.
The Q26 and Low-Profile pages do not mention a crease, and their descriptions do not describe the wing the same way. So if your pair has a wing, the 2.4g Mini page's line is the one to follow; if it does not, there is no crease to find, and the wipe is just the silicone surface the Q26 page describes.
Keep liquid away from the sound outlet, and what none of the pages asks you to buy
All three pages say not to get the earbuds wet. The Q26 page: "Avoid soaking or rinsing them, and keep liquids away from the sound outlet." The 2.4g Mini page: "never rinse them or push anything into the sound outlet." The Low-Profile page: "avoid getting liquid into the sound outlets or the case interior." The sound outlet — the small opening the audio comes out of — is the part all three single out.
Here is the part worth noticing for what it does not contain. We searched every active sleep-earbud description in our catalogue for the words "brush", "wax", "earwax", "moisture" and "wash". Each of them appears zero times. No sleep page in our range tells you to buy a brush, describes wax as the problem, or mentions moisture as something to manage. The routine they describe needs a cloth and nothing else. If a general earbud-cleaning guide suggests a tool — our own tools guide does, drawing on its own sources — that suggestion is not coming from these three pages, which is fine: they are answering a narrower question.
A quick daily wipe beats a deep monthly scrub
That sentence is the Q26 page's own, and it is the clearest statement of where to stop. The routine is short because it is meant to be daily; the page is explicit that a light daily wipe is preferred over an occasional heavy clean. The Low-Profile page adds one thing about the case rather than the earbuds — "keep the glittery case rim free of dust" — which is the only case-specific care note across the three, and it is again a wipe, not a wash.
So the honest end of this guide is the same as the end of the routine: wipe, air out, case, done. There is no deeper step the pages describe, and the one page that addresses the question of frequency answers it in favour of less. On hygiene of the ear itself — whether nightly wear affects your ears — this article does not go there; that is a question about you, not about the product, and the product pages are not a source for it.
